The
ram air freefall progression system uses manoeuverable - but large and
docile - square parachutes that can easily be steered to a marked landing
area for a tip toe landing. Your first few jumps will be done using
the static line system. This means that your parachute will be automatically
deployed in the first few seconds that you fall away from the plane.
As you fall away from the plane you will practise an arched stable spread
position. You will do a minimum of 5 of these practise jumps before
doing your first freefall descent and deploying the parachute yourself.
You will then move onto longer freefall descents and freefall manoeuvres.
